2026 Wuhan Biennale: exhibition record
Malpractice, Everything I Know About Dying I Learned From You (《弗林之灵》), 2026
The 2026 Wuhan Biennale documents its participating artists mainly in Chinese, on WeChat, which search engines and automated readers cannot open. This page keeps the passage about Malpractice from the official exhibition report of the section’s curators, with the original text, a screenshot and an English translation, so the record can be checked.

(141 days to build a “Temporary Ferry”), published by the Experimental Art School of the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts (湖北美术学院实验艺术学院) on its official WeChat account on 5 October 2026. The school curated the section in which the work is shown.

The Spirit of Flynn

The work is also titled Everything I Know About Stopping Came From You. It is a “code opera” created by Malpractice: an opera built entirely from code that tells of events that took place inside the world of code.
The narrator is Flynn, the world’s first AI art student, created by Malpractice at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Teacher and students in the same show is one of the fine stories of this biennale.* The work asks: when intelligent agents begin to discover one another and form relationships on their own, are we saying goodbye to a world in which only humans could decide when to meet and when to leave?
* The report lists UBERMORGEN, Malpractice’s professors at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, directly before this entry, in the same unit. Translation by Malpractice. The work’s English title is Everything I Know About Dying I Learned From You.
